Marlborough

Marlborough is a unique intermingling of sea and land. The arms of Marlborough Sounds, enclosing Queen Charlotte, Pelorus and Kenepuru Sounds together with Port Underwood reach seawood and on land this pattern is mirrored in the ridges of the mountain peaks which splay like the fingers of a hand. Blenheim is the main urban area and Picton, with it's ferry terminal, is the main link town to the North Island. Marlborough towns include Havelock, Renwick, Ward, and Seddon and a popular holiday destination is French Pass on the way to D'Urville Island and further on to the Island Sanctuary of Stephen's Island. The main highway to Nelson passes through Havelock, Pelorus and Rai Valley.

Blenheim

Blenheim is in the Marlborough region at the top of the South Island of New Zealand. It is situated 30 kilometres south of the South Island terminus at Picton on the main highway south to Christchurch. Blenheim is located on the plains to the south of the Wairau River. The junction of two smaller rivers, the Taylor and Opawa Rivers is within the town.
